Write a 2- to 3-page paper that addresses the following:
 Explain how you might apply Dr. Bear’s framework (i.e., observation,
documentation, evaluation, and planning) to inform instruction for one or more
students in your field setting. Suggest specific informal assessment practices that
you could use in your field setting to learn more about a student’s word
knowledge and overall literacy development.
 Explain the differences between academic and social language and the
importance of supporting all students in the development of academic language
(including English language learners), and give examples of strategies and
activities to support this development.
 Articulate a rationale for teaching English-language structure and conventions for
all students, including English-language learners. Explain how writing, oral
language experiences, and teacher read-alouds each support development of
students’ knowledge and skills in grammar and language mechanics.
Include three to five references, in APA format, from the learning resources or articles
from the library to support your answer.
